WHERE DOES OUR MONEY GO?

The Pine County Genealogical Society has purchased the following magazines and books for genealogy research purposes.

    1. The "Family Tree" magazine for the Pine City Library
    2. The "Family Tree" magazine for the Sandstone Library
    3. The "Family Chronicle" magazine for the Hinckley Library

  The following books were purchased for the Pine County Libraries

    1. "History of the Ojibway People" by William W. Warren
    2.  “State Census Records” by Ann S. Lainha
    3. “Hidden Sources, Family History in Unlikely Places” by Laura Szucs
    4.  “Map Guide to American Migration Routes, 1735-1815” by William Dollarhide
    5.  “American Naturalization Records, 1790-1990 What They Are and How To Use Them” by John J. Newman
    6. “Searching American Military Records” by Fran Cartee
    7.  “The Beginner’s Guide to Danish Genealogical Research” Compiled by Finn A. Thomsen
    8.  “The Beginner’s Guide to Norwegian Genealogical Research” Compiled by Finn A. Thomsen
    9. “The Beginner’s Guide to Swedish Genealogical Research” Compiled by Finn A. Thomsen
    10. “The Beginner’s Guide to German Genealogical Research” Compiled by Finn A. Thomsen
    11.  “Your Guide To The Family History Library” by Paula S. & James W. Warren

Donated money for microfilms of the Hinckley Newspaper for the Hinckley Library.

Donated money to the Sandstone Library to help purchase a reader/printer for microfilms.

Purchased microfilms of the State Census for years 1884, 1895 and 1905 for the Pine City Library.

Purchased two books "Roots for Kids" and "Dig Up Your Roots & Find Your branches" to the Sandstone Library in memory of one of our members, Carol Davis.

Donated $250.00 to the Sandstone and Pine City Library to help defray cost of their budget cut back in year 2004.  Hinckley Library did not need help at the time.

          Donated money to the Sandstone Library to help pay for a cabinet for the microfilms.

          Purchased two books “Absolute Beginners Guide to Computer Basics 3rd Edition”and 
          “Easy Computer Basics See It Done, Do it Yourself" in memory of one of our members, Ron Troolin.

          Purchased the Minnesota Pine County census year 1865 and 1875 to the Pine City Library

          Purchased the Minnesota Pine County census year 1865 and 1885 to the Sandstone Library

          Purchased the Federal Pine County census for years 1860 and 1870 to the Sandstone Library

          Purchased the Hinckley Enterprise newspapers from 1894-1921 to the Pine City Library

          Purchased the “Dating Old Photographs 1840-1929” for the Sandstone Library

          Purchased “More Dating Old Photographs 1840-1929” for the Sandstone Library

          Purchased copies of Plat books and maps for Pine County

          Purchased microfilms of births and deaths of Pine County for the Sandstone and Pine City Library.

          Purchased a computer for the genealogy area in the Pine City Library in year 2011.

          Purchased Volume 1 and Volume 2 of  "Norwegians in America" for the Sandstone and Pine City Library.
